Theodore C. Rammelkamp

A History of the Rammelkamp Bradney Law Firm

Like his father Dr. Charles Rammelkamp, a distinguished president of Illinois College, Ted continued a lineage of commitment to the Jacksonville community that resonates today and will continue to do so long into the future. Ted came to the firm in 1948 after meritorious military service in World War II. He was heavily involved in the war, flying over 30 combat missions in North Africa and the European Theatre.

As an attorney, Ted had a nimble, creative mind that is probably best reflected in the municipal legal work he and Orville Foreman spearheaded for 30 years. Virtually everyone in central Illinois lives or works in a community with a municipal infrastructure built on the legal foundation and intellectual capital provided by Ted and Orville.

Always active in the local community, Ted was a member of a select group of returning veterans who formed an industrial corporation and succeeded in bringing more than 1,000 jobs to the post war community, thus generating an economic and cultural climate impossible to quantify.

Ted not only was a distinguished municipal lawyer, but also was gifted in probate, and was recognized for those talents by his election as a fellow in the National Probate Society.
