J. Andrew “Andy” Merriman joined
Rammelkamp Bradney in October 2006 after
graduating from the Michigan State University
College of Law. He earned his bachelor’s
degree in political science from the University
of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. While a
law student, Andy clerked for Rammelkamp
Bradney during summers and worked with most
of the firm’s attorneys one-on-one. He was
familiarized with areas of the law ranging from
personal injury and labor law to real estate and
corporation law.
While at law school, Andy served for two years
as a member of the Student Bar Association
(SBA). In his final year, Andy was elected
president of the SBA, which serves as the
student government of the
institution.
As President of the SBA,
Andy’s main goal was to
help integrate MSU-COL into
the national law school
community. He attended
statewide and national
conferences, and
laid the groundwork
for district elections
hosted by MSU-COL.
Andy also oversaw
the law college’s
participation in a
national fundraising
drive for victims of
Hurricane Katrina
along with many
charitable community
events and activities. |
